  • Ruins: Explore the ruins around Puca Pucara. See Tambomachay and its ceremonial water fountains, Qenqo - a temple and amphitheater - and the famous fortress of Sacsayhuaman where the Festival of Sun occurs annually.

Sacred Valley - Moray, Maras and OllantaytamboDay 3

DAY 3: SACRED VALLEY

  • Moray: Travel to the Sacred Valley. Visit the agricultural and archaeological region of Moray.
  • Maras: Enjoy a visit to Maras and its large salt basins - walk down until the Urubamba River, heart of the valley.
  • Ollantaytambo: Explore the village of Ollantaytambo and its ruins with a local guide - it is the most ancient and continuously inhabited village of the American continent. Admire its namesake fortress.
  • Return: Return to Cusco. Dinner and overnight accommodation in Cusco.

South Valley Bike Ride and Pikillacta RuinsDay 4

DAY 4: SOUTH VALLEY

  • Breakfast: Breakfast at the hotel with your group.
  • Huasao: Travel to Huasao - a small village in the South Valley of Cusco known as an esoteric place due to the large number of Shamans that live there.
  • Bike Ride: Partake in a bike ride on the single track route until you arrive at Oropesa, a small colonial town also known for the preparation of a typical kind of bread. Enjoy a picnic!
  • Lagoon: Continue the ride to the Huacarpay Lagoon, where you will see many different kinds of birds.
  • Pikillacta: From Huacarpay, cross to the Pre-Inca Archaeological Complex of Pikillacta for a brief visit.
  • Return: Return to Cusco. Dinner and overnight accommodation in Cusco.

Cultural Exchange Day at a Local SchoolDay 5

DAY 5: SACRED VALLEY

  • Breakfast: Breakfast at the hotel with your group.
  • School Day: Travel to the Sacred Valley. Spend the entire day with students from a local school - tour the school, exchange cultural differences, practice your Spanish, and have lunch with them.
  • Sports: Challenge each other with a friendly soccer game!
  • Donations: You can also donate school supplies, clothes, or toiletries.
  • Return: Return to Cusco. Dinner and overnight accommodation in Cusco.

Machu PicchuDay 6

DAY 6: MACHU PICCHU

  • Breakfast: Breakfast at the hotel with your group.
  • Train: Early transfer to Poroy's train station to go to Machu Picchu.
  • Machu Picchu: Meet your local guide in Aguas Calientes to explore the fabulous archaeological site of Machu Picchu - a center of worship and astronomical observation, also the secret refuge of Emperor Pachacutec. There are great places, an agricultural area, several temples, and royal tombs built with amazing precision.
  • Return: Board the train back to Cusco. Dinner and overnight accommodation in Cusco.

Peruvian Cooking Class and Travel to LimaDay 7

DAY 7: CUSCO - LIMA

  • Breakfast: Breakfast at the hotel with your group.
  • Cooking Class: Enjoy a Peruvian cooking demonstration and lessons with a local chef - prepare 3 Peruvian dishes and enjoy them in a cozy setting.
  • Leisure: Take the rest of the day to explore Cusco at your own pace with your group leaders.
  • Lima: Transfer by motor coach to the airport. Board your flight to Lima. Transfer to your hotel for check-in.

Lima City Tour and Fly Back HomeDay 8

DAY 8: LIMA - HOME

  • Lima Tour: Visit the colonial and modern historical center of Lima - Plaza Mayor, the Cathedral containing the remains of the conquistador Pizarro, the Santo Domingo Convent, and City Hall.
  • San Francisco: Explore the Monastery of San Francisco - famous for its catacombs containing 70,000 graves.
  • Modern Lima: Explore the popular Plaza San Martin. Experience the Magic Water Show of Lima - an exceptional display of water fountains choreographed to music and light designs.
  • Departure: Have dinner with your group. Transfer by motor coach to the airport. Board your flight from Lima and fly back home.
