Visit Costa Rica:  Volunteering Tour

9 Days/8 Nights

 

DAY 1:  HOME – COSTA RICA

Board your flight and fly to Costa Rica.

Bienvenidos a Costa Rica! Meet your Prométour Tour Director upon arrival at the airport.

Transfer to your hotel for check-in.

Dinner and overnight accommodation at El Rancho Lodge.

DAY 2:  LA GUACIMA

Breakfast at the hotel with your group.

Have the opportunity to enhance a Costa Rican School with gifts of basic school supplies and your time! Often these schools do not receive a lot of outside help – they need painting, reconstruction, improvement etc. Your involvement today will have a great effect on the local community.

Lunch with your group at a local restaurant.

Follow you Tour Director on a discovery tour of the city. You’ll see Plaza de la Cultura, the Main Square and Plaza de Democracia Stop at the famous flea market where you can practice your Spanish by bargaining with local vendors.

Dinner and overnight accommodation at El Rancho Lodge.

DAY 3:  LA GUACIMA – SARAPIQUI

Breakfast at the hotel with your group.

Drive to Sarapiqui.

People, communities, businesses and industries as well as governments from all countries are encouraged to add tree planting pledges online with the objective of planting at least one billion trees worldwide each year. Be part of it! Partake in a Reforestation Program with your group.

Enjoy a lunch box on site.

Partake in a chocolate process tour – learn how it plays an important role in the Costa Rican Culture.

Dinner and overnight accommodation in Sarapaqui.

DAY 4:  SARAPIQUI – ARENAL

Breakfast at the hotel with your group.

Partake in the Arenal Hanging Bridges Tour; The tour consists of 3 miles of trails designed for easy access, crossing 15 bridges with lengths ranging from 5 to 100 meters.

Lunch with your group in a local restaurant.

This afternoon, embark on a Zip Lining adventure! About 70% of all life in a tropical forest takes place at the tree canopy level. Discover the forest in an exhilarating way!

Dinner and overnight accommodation in Arenal.

DAY 5:  ARENAL – MONTEZUMA

Breakfast at the hotel with your group..

Volunteer in a local animal refuge; your help plays an important role in the conservation of Costa Rica’s incredible biodiversity and vital to the success of the wildlife rescue centers.

Lunch with your group in a local restaurant.

Travel by bus and ferry to Montezuma, located in the southern part of Costa Rica’s Nicoya Peninsula.

Dinner and overnight accommodation in Montezuma.

DAY 6:  MONTEZUMA

Breakfast at the hotel with your group.

Spend the day offering your volunteer services for the protection of the sea turtles, who are in serious risk of extinction. The Sea Turtle Conservation Program in Playa Montezuma develops sustainable projects in three areas; reforestation and cleaning of the coastline, conservation and protection of sea turtles, and environmental education and community improvement. Activities could include; construction and cleaning of the hatcheries that protect the eggs from animals and poachers, beach clean-up, patrols with staff to help with scientific data collection, including measuring and marking turtles, taking part in group discussions about educating future generations about the importance of sea turtle conservation. Lunch will be provided.

Dinner and overnight accommodation in Montezuma.

DAY 7:  MONTEZUMA

Breakfast at the hotel with your group.

DAY 8:  MONTEZUMA – LA GUACIMA

Breakfast at the hotel with your group

Enjoy some relaxing time on the beach!.

Lunch with your group at a local restaurant.

Board your motor coach and travel to La Guacima.

Enjoy some leisure time at the Rancho; there is a pool, a volleyball net and you can play soccer.

Dinner and overnight accommodation at El Rancho Lodge.

DAY 9:  LA GUACIMA – HOME

Breakfast at the hotel with your group.

Transfer by bus to the airport.

Say Hasta Luego to your Prométour Tour Director.

Board your flight from San Jose and fly back home.
