DAY 3: BERLIN

  • GDR Museum: Enter the Museum at the Kulturbrauerei - a contemporary German history museum. The permanent exhibition focuses on everyday life in the German Democratic Republic.

Potsdam - Wannsee Conference and Cecilienhof CastleDay 4

DAY 4: BERLIN - POTSDAM

  • Wannsee: Board your bus and travel to Potsdam. Enter the House of the Wannsee Conference - in 1942, leading figures in the Nazi government met here to discuss the Final Solution to the Jewish Question.
  • Bridge of Spies: Cross Glienicke Bridge - used for the exchange of captured spies and known as the Bridge of Spies.
  • Cecilienhof: Guided visit of Cecilienhof Castle - where the leaders of the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States met in 1945 during the Potsdam Conference.

Helmstedt - Former Cold War Border Checkpoint, then WeimarDay 5

DAY 5: POTSDAM - HELMSTEDT - WEIMAR

  • Helmstedt: Board your bus and travel to Helmstedt. Visit the former border checkpoint Helmstedt-Marienpoint - the largest and most important crossing of the inner German border during the division of Germany. Explore the Commander Tower, exchange booth, and meet with contemporary witnesses.
  • Weimar: Continue to Weimar.
  • Dinner: Dinner with your group at a local restaurant.

DAY 6: WEIMAR

DAY 7: WEIMAR - RASDORF - FRANKFURT

  • Point Alpha: Board your bus and travel to Rasdorf. Partake in a guided tour of Point Alpha Observation Post - where a small band of US Army soldiers kept watch across the Iron Curtain wire fence.
  • Frankfurt: Continue to Frankfurt, known for its futuristic skyline and the busiest German airport. Explore Frankfurt and pick up any souvenirs.

DAY 8: FRANKFURT - HOME
