DAY 1: FLY TO ECUADOR

Board your flight to Quito Bienvenidos a Ecuador! Meet your Prométour Tour Director upon arrival at the airport.

Board your bus and transfer to the hotel for check-in.

Have dinner with group.

Overnight in Quito.

DAY 2: QUITO

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel with your group.

Today explore Quito, the capital of Ecuador, it has one of the best-preserved and least altered historic center in Latin America. It has been declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site due to its rich history and artistic legacy.

Have lunch at a local restaurant.

This afternoon, visit the Middle of the World. Learn important facts about the Equator and confirm or dismiss related rumors that have fascinated people for centuries. Celebrate the ability to be in both hemispheres at the same time – a once in a lifetime experience!

Return to the hotel, for dinner and overnight.

DAY 3: QUITO – OTAVALO – QUITO

Have breakfast at the hotel with your group.

Board your bus and travel to the Ecuadorian Highlands. Explore Otavalo Town and visiting the local craft market. The Otavalos are a trader’s community by tradition, known worldwide for their wonderful work on textiles and tapestries.

Have lunch with your group.

Continue your journey and meet local artisans who will show you the ancient techniques used to create tapestries.

Learn about Andean music and how to play some of the most popular Andean musical instruments.

Return to Quito for dinner and overnight.

DAY 4: QUITO

Breakfast at the hotel with your group.

Depart to a local indigenous community, where you will be greeted by a Quichua-Karanki family. You will be introduced to the indigenous lifestyle and learn about their customs and traditions.

Visit the community medicinal gardens and organic orchards, help them with the harvest!

For lunch and dinner, enjoy delicious, fresh and healthy meals based on typical ingredients of the Andean cuisine.

Learn how to cook some of the most popular Andean dishes.

Participate in a cultural integration evening with typical music and dance.

Return to your hotel for overnight accommodation.

DAY 5: QUITO

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel.

This morning, visit a local public school that serves low-income families and assist teachers with their activities. You’ll partake in Minga, a Quichua indigenous word that refers to Team Work. It is an important part of the Quichua culture who strongly believe in Team Work to achieve benefits for the whole community!

For today’s activities, you must use your imagination as you will have the challenge to break the language barrier and show that human communication is much more than a language!

Help in the improvement of a school area such as gardens, classrooms or library. Enjoy a fun time with the kids while playing games with them during break time. Assist teachers during lunchtime, helping teachers and parents to prepare their meals and then serve.

Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 6: QUITO

Breakfast at the hotel with your group.

Enjoy a hike surrounding the Cuicocha lake, a lake formed in a volcano crater after thousands of years of intense volcanic activity of the extinct Cuicocha volcano. The lake is part of the Cotacachi-Cayapas Reserve, which goes from the western Andean Cordillera to the Pacific coast. Admire the beauty of this natural environment.

Enjoy a picnic lunch in the area.

In the afternoon, return to Quito for your last night.

Enjoy a Chiva Ride to see Quito at night. Chivas are typical open buses with a live music band on board playing local music.

Have a farewell dinner at a local restaurant.

Return to the hotel for overnight accommodation.

DAY 7: FLY BACK HOME

Breakfast at the hotel with your group.

Board your bus and transfer to the airport.

Say Hasta Luego to your Prométour Tour Director.

Board your flight from Quito and fly back home.
