DAY 1: Fly to San Jose (Costa Rica)

DAY 2: La Guacima – Volunteer Service in an Animal Rescue Center in Alajuela – La Guacima
Breakfast at the hotel with your group and Prométour Tour Director
Costa Rica has more than 8,500 species of plants, 220 species of reptiles, 160 species of amphibians, 205 species of mammals, and 850 species of birds. Volunteers here play an important role in the conservation of Costa Rica’s incredible biodiversity and have responsibilities that are vital to the success of the wildlife rescue centers.
Volunteers help also welcoming visitors at the entrance, explaining our goals and answering any questions that the visitors may have about the shelter or its resident animals
Have lunch at a local restaurant
Volunteer activities: interacting with visitors, maintenance of animal enclosures, answer basic questions about animals, training of wild resident animals that are in the shelter, cleaning, preparation of diets, among many other things

DAY 3: La Guacima – Sarapiqui
Breakfast at the hotel with your group and Prométour Tour Director
Board your motor coach and travel to Sarapiqui
Visit the Tirimbina Rainforest Center; Take a guided walking tour through the Costa Rican rainforest to learn about the vegetation and the animals that inhabit it.
This activity aims to compare different elements of the rainforest (plant structures, soils, and diversity) from two different habitats as well as to understand the reasons why these differences exist
A boxed lunch will be provided
Dinner and overnight accommodation in Sarapiqui.
DAY 4: Ecology & Diversity in Sarapiqui – La Guacima
Breakfast at the hotel with your group and Prométour Tour Director
Full day will be spent exploring the rainforest of Sarapiqui. The activity aims to measure the diversity of plants in the rainforest, its relation to forest age and structure as well as to the diversity-area equation and its applications to conservation and preserve design
A boxed lunch will be provided

DAY 5: La Guacima – Community Service in a Local School – Montezuma
Breakfast at the hotel with your group and Prométour Tour Director
Have the opportunity to enhance a Costa Rican school with gifts of basic school supplies that not all local students can afford. Often these schools do not receive a lot of outside help – they need painting, reconstruction, improvement etc. Your involvement today will have a great effect on the local community

Board your motor coach and travel to Montezuma, located in the southern part of Costa Rica’s the Nicoya Peninsula
Dinner and overnight accommodation in Montezuma.
DAY 6: Volunteer Service with Turtles in Montezuma

Spend the day offering your volunteer services for the turtles
The Montezuma Sea Turtle Conservation Program develops projects in three major themes; reforestation and cleaning of solid waste; conservation and protection of sea turtles; and community improvement through the development of sustainable projects. Be a part of it as you get to volunteer with your group, spend the day giving back! Lunch will be provided.
