DAY 1: FLY TO PERU
Board your flight and fly through the night to Peru.
DAY 2: CUSCO
Bienvenidos a Peru! Meet your Prométour Tour Director upon arrival.
Board your bus and transfer to your host families.
Meet your host families as they welcome you and take you to their home to settle in – Relax or take a nap to get used to the altitude.
Then get to know them over dinner followed by overnight accommodation.
DAY 3: CUSCO
Breakfast with your host families.
Guided walking tour of Cusco – See the Plaza de Armas & its Cathedral and Koricancha; a famous temple dedicated to the sun.
Visit the ruins around Puca Pucara (Red Fort).
Have lunch at a local restaurant.
See Tambomachay and its ceremonial water fountains, then see Qenqo – A temple and amphitheater and finally the famous fortress where Sacsayhuaman (Festival of Sun) occurs annually.
Return to your host family, have dinner followed by your overnight accommodation.
DAY 4: SACRED VALLEY
Breakfast with your host families.
Travel to the Sacred Valley.
Discover the Pisac Market – Where you can buy ponchos, sweaters, and alpaca wool blankets.
Have lunch at a local restaurant.
Explore the Ruins of Pisac – Enjoy the view of the Urubamba Valley.
Continue to Ollantaytambo – The only village that has remained intact from the Inca era
Explore the village and its ruins with a local guide.
Return to your host family, have dinner followed by your overnight accommodation.
DAY 5: MACHU PICCHU
Breakfast with your host families.
Early transfer to the train station; excursion to the Machu Picchu.
Meet a local guide in Aguas Calientes and discover the fabulous archaeological site of Machu Picchu – It is a center of worship and astronomical observation but also the secret refuge of the Emperor Pachacutec.
Have lunch within a local restaurant.
Spend some time exploring Machu Picchu on your own.
Have dinner at a local restaurant.
Enjoy a night bath in the Aguas Calientes’ Hot Springs.
Dinner and overnight accommodation in Aguas Calientes.
DAY 6: AGUAS CALIENTES – MORAY – MARAS – CUSCO
Breakfast at the hotel.
Board a train to Ollantaytambo, where a bus will be waiting for you.
Visit the agricultural and archaeological region of Moray.
Then enjoy a visit to Maras and its large salt basins – Walk down until the Urubamba River heart of the valley.
Stop for a picnic lunch and admire the snowy peaks of the valley.
Transfer to back to Cusco in the afternoon.
Return to your host family, have dinner followed by your overnight accommodation.
DAY 7: LIMA – FLY BACK HOME
Last breakfast with your host families.
Transfer to the airport and board your flight to Lima.
Have lunch at a local restaurant.
Guided walking tour of Lima – See Plaza Mayor & its Cathedral, the Santo Domingo Convent, Government Palace and City Hall.
Visit the Monastery of San Francisco – Famous for its catacombs containing 70,000 graves.
Explore the popular Plaza San Martin.
Visit the modern district of Miraflores.
Have dinner at a local restaurant.
Experience the Magic Water Show of Lima – An exceptional display of water fountains choreographed to music and light designs.
Dinner and transfer to the airport.
Board your flight from Lima and fly back home.
