DAY 1: HOME – SAN JOSE

Board your flight and fly to Costa Rica

Bienvenidos a Costa Rica! Meet your Costa Rican Prometour Tour Director at the arrivals section of the airport.

Transfer to your hotel to drop off your luggage. Check-in will be done later.

Have leisure time to enjoy the hotel pool, challenge your fellow travelers to a game of volleyball or soccer, or go for a walk around the nearby town.

Dinner and overnight accommodation at El Rancho Lodge (Guacima Country Inn).

 

DAY 2: LA GUACIMA & SAN JOSE

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel with your group.

Head to San Jose for a guided city tour. See some of the most popular attractions such as the Plaza de la Cultura (the Main Square & focal point) and Plaza de Democracia (the famous flea market) – practice your Spanish by bargaining with the local vendors.

Visit the Museo nacional de Costa Rica – Discover Pre-Colombian artifacts and cannons from the colonial period.

Enjoy lunch with your group in a local restaurant.

Learn to cook like a Tico with a hands-on and interactive cooking class of local cuisine.

Dinner and overnight accommodation at El Rancho Lodge (Guacima Country Inn).

 

DAY 3: LA GUACIMA & SURROUNDINGS 

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel with your group.

Go to Poas Volcano National Park, considered the largest active crater in the world at about 1.6 km wide and 320 meters deep. See Lake Botos, which fills an extinct crater, and is home to many cloud forest birds like hummingbirds, tanagers and the quetzal.

Board your motor coach and travel to Sarchi, famous for its arts & crafts.

Explore the artistic town of Sarchi with your Tour Director. See local artisans at work as they create the unique and colorful Ox Carts that it is famous for.

Learn how to paint your own ox cart wheel. The best part? Your wheel will be a great souvenir!

Enjoy lunch with your group in a local restaurant.

Board your motor coach and continue on to Grecia, quaint village in the Alajuela Province

Follow your Prometour Tour Director on a discovery tour of Grecia, the highlight being the famous Nuestra Senora de las Mercedes Church because of its particular architecture.

Board your motor coach and return to La Guacima de Alejuela.

Dinner and overnight accommodation at El Rancho Lodge (Guacima Country Inn).

 

DAY 4: LA GUACIMA

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel with your group.

70% of life in a forest takes place at the tree canopy level. Experience the exhilaration of zip lining and fly from platform to platform. First class equipment, trained guides, stringent safety procedures, and an extraordinary location combine to assure this to be an unforgettable experience. Footwear requirement: Running shoes

Enjoy lunch with your group in a local restaurant.

Partake in volunteer service at the Herpetology Animal Rescue Center. Welcome visitors, explain the goals and answer basic questions about the Rescue Center, help in cleaning of animal enclosures, prepare meals, or take part in training exercises of the wild resident animals are some of the projects you may experience.

DAY 5: LA GUACIMA & ALAJUELA

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel with your group.

Breathe in the aroma of freshly-roasted Arabica coffee beans at Doka Coffee Plantation. The tour begins at the seedbed to learn about the farm’s history, the coffee trees and the planting process, then depending on the season, pick coffee berries before visiting the water mill, processing plant and roasting room.

Show off your fancy footwork by taking part in a Tico dance class.

DAY 6: LA GUACIMA & ALAJUELA

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel with your group.

Spend the day exploring La Paz Waterfall & Gardens and discover all that the rainforest has to offer! The eco park is home to all kinds of wildlife including toucans, scarlet macaws, sloths, and jaguars. Wander through scenic hiking trails leading to five breathtaking waterfalls, admire vibrant orchids, observe hummingbirds, and exotic frogs up close.

Enjoy lunch on site with your group.

After lunch, visit the Historical House Museum (Casita) and petting zoo, as well as the Butterfly Observatory.

Dinner and overnight accommodation at Guacima El Rancho Lodge (Guacima Country Inn).

 

DAY 7: RETURN HOME

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel with your group.

Transfer by motor coach to the airport.
