Bangkok and the Andaman Islands

9-Day Explorer Tour

Day 1: Bangkok

Arrive in Bangkok.  Well known as the City of Angels, Krungthepmahanakorn (Bangkok) is the present capital city and the focal point for Thailand.  It is a vibrant city, and home of Thailand’s spiritual, cultural, political, commercial, educational and diplomatic institutions. Upon arrival at Bangkok Airport, you will be met with our local representative and transferred to your hotel, for check in and enjoy balance of the day at leisure.

Day 2: Bangkok (B/D)

An early start with breakfast at the hotel and you will be on your way for a half-day excursion to the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Situated 110 km from Bangkok in Ratchaburi province, this market is like a trip back in time to the Siam of old. You will see colourfully clad merchants paddle along congested canals in sturdy canoes laden with fresh fruit, vegetables and other foodstuff to sell to shoppers on the canal banks.  Optional paddle boat is available at extra cost. In the afternoon, visit the Grand Palace and Wat Po. The Grand Palace is an architectural wonder of golden stupas, walls and pillars encrusted in shining and colourful mosaics. The most famous building within the palace grounds is Wat Phra Kaew and this is regarded as the most sacred Buddhist temple in Thailand. Continue to Wat Po, with its massive reclining Buddha.

This evening, join the Midnight Food Tour by Tuk Tuk to experience the fun of riding around in a Tuk Tuk and discover Bangkok’s magical atmosphere at night. Visit famous local eateries around the city sampling the local street foods, go behind the scenes to see how it’s made.  Explore the amazing flower market with its vivid colors. Afterwards your Tuk Tuk driver will take you back to hotel around midnight.

Day 3: Bangkok – Krabi – Koh Lanta (B/L)

After breakfast and hotel check-out, you will be met by our guide and transferred to Bangkok Airport to board a flight to Krabi to begin Island Hopping  in the Andaman Sea. Upon arrival, transfer by local boat to the less touristic Koh Lanta Island, one of Thailand’s most beautiful islands, located just off the coast of Krabi.  Rest of day is free at leisure to explore the area and enjoy the island.

Day 4: Koh Lanta (B)

Enjoy a free day at leisure to explore Koh Lanta Island. Lovely sandy beaches, an endless stretch of Andaman Sea and a collection of 70 neighboring islands topped with lush evergreen forest make Koh Lanta in Krabi nothing less than paradise. The island is the main gateway to the exotic coral reefs and marine life of the Andaman Sea. Diving expeditions, snorkeling and sea kayaking are just some of the options available to you. Other activities include attending Thai Cooking classes, elephant trekking, fishing trips, as well as eco- tourism tours and guided tours of the mainland.

Day 5: Koh Lanta – Koh Mook (B)

After breakfast, transfer by private car to the resort on Koh Mook. The rest of day is free at leisure.

Day 6: Koh Mook (B)

After an early breakfast, your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel for a long tail boat Island-Hopping excursion to explore the Trang archipelago. Take a leisurely trip and travel like the locals to any number of islands in the area including; Koh Rok, Koh Ma, Koh Chaek, Koh Kradan and Koh Ngai. To fit more into your day, a speedboat is a faster and more stylish way to travel making it easy to stop for swimming, snorkeling and lunch on a deserted beach. The highlight of this island-hopping excursion is a visit to the Emerald Cave. The cave is reached by boat, just minutes away on the west coast of the island. Kayaking (at low tide) or swimming is required to enter the cave; you efforts will be rewarded as you are surrounded by high cliffs of lush greenery and a small sandy beach under the open blue skies. The sunlight filters through the sea water creating the stunning emerald colour.  After a relaxing day at sea, return to the hotel and rest of the day is free at leisure.

Day 7: Koh Mook – Koh Lipe (B)

Pick-up from your hotel on Koh Mook and transfer by small ferry or speedboat to your next destination, Koh Lipe, an island paradise in the South Andaman Sea, famous for its white sandy beaches and turquoise blue waters, luxuriant tropical forest and colourful coral reefs (25% of the world’s tropical fish can be found here).  After arrival at the hotel, enjoy the rest of the day free at leisure to explore this small, but beautiful island. Snorkeling and scuba diving are the most notable activities to practice and you can rent the equipment in shops along the beaches and go straight from the shore: there are superb coral reefs just a few meters away waiting to be explored. Sea Kayaking and sailing are also available. And after all these strenuous activities, why not indulge yourself with a Thai massage?

Day 8: Koh Lipe (B/L)

After breakfast you will be picked up from your hotel for a full-day  snorkeling excursion to discover the Satun undersea. The experienced guide will bring you to where a long-tail boat await for a unique snorkeling trip. The sites will be chosen to be optimal according to weather conditions, tidal movement and Park restrictions. The first stop is at Hin Ngnam Island, a shallow and calm site which makes it possible to have a close look at all the small and unique marine life. Move to Jabang Island, the sea here is about 5-16 meters in depth but most of the time the water is so clear you can see the colorful coral from the surface. Lunch will be served on the unspoilt Rawi Island that boasts the best beaches of any island in the Adang archipelago and its white sand beach is just perfect for strolling around. After lunch, we head to Koh Hin Sorn, an astonishing mini island that has two cube boulders overlapped, like it was made by someone, which provide shelter for juvenile marine life like clown fish, coral reefs, sea flowers, soft corals and hard corals. On the way back we stop over at Koh Rokloy, a tiny island with powdery sand beach whose color contrasts with the turquoise of the sea. This is last snorkeling spot where you can enjoy swimming in the sea. Something you will never forget!

Day 9: Koh Lipe (B) – end of tour

After breakfast at the hotel, you are free at leisure until check-out time. This is the end of this adventure, but you may opt to return to Bangkok, extend your stay in Phuket or continue your adventure to Langkawi Island (Malaysia) by obtaining from the local immigration office your stamp out of Thailand.  See all of your options to customize this itinerary with your Prométour’s tour consultant.
