Visit Italy: Pilgrimage Tour

DAY 1: HOME – ITALY

Board your transatlantic flight and fly through the night to Italy.

DAY 2: MILAN

Benvenuti in Italia! Meet your Prométour Tour Director upon arrival at the airport.

Transfer to your hotel to drop off your luggage.

Follow a local guide on a walking tour of Milan- see the city’s main sights.

Enter the Duomo, Milan’s marvel of white marble, and then take a lift to walk on the roof and view over 2000 statues.

Dinner with your group at a local restaurant.

Overnight accommodation in Milan.

DAY 3: MILAN – VENICE

Breakfast at the hotel with your group.

Board your bus and travel to Padua.

Enter the Basilica of Saint Anthony, known locally as ”Il Santo”. The Basilica is one eight international shrines recognized by the Holy See.

Enjoy lunch on your own.

Continue on to Venice.

While in Venice, use the vaporetto service to get around!

Explore Venice at your pace; pick up souvenirs at the local markets or stroll alongside the Grand Canal.

Enjoy a gondola ride through the canals of Venice.

Dinner with your group at a local restaurant.

Overnight accommodation in Venice.

DAY 4: VENICE

Breakfast at the hotel with your group.

Meet a local guide and follow him/her on a 3-hour guided walking tour of Venice. Enter St. Mark’s Basilica and the Doge’s Palace.

Enjoy lunch on your own.

Enjoy an afternoon excursion to Murano & Burano. Admire the century-old techniques and skills of the local artisans through a glass-blowing demonstration.

Dinner with your group at a local restaurant.

Overnight accommodation in Venice.

DAY 5: VENICE – FLORENCE

Breakfast at the hotel with your group.

Board your water taxi and transfer to the train station.

Take a FRECCE train to Florence.

Transfer to your hotel to drop off your luggage.

Enjoy lunch on your own.

Meet your local guide for a walking tour of Florence;  you’ll see the Duomo, the bronze doors of The Baptistry and Santa Croce Basilica where some of the most illustrious Italians are buried; Michelangelo, Galileo, Machiavelli, and Rossini to name a few.

Have some time to explore Florence at tour own pace.

Dinner with your group at a local restaurant.

DAY 6: EXCURSION TO ASSISI

Breakfast at the hotel with your group.

Board your bus and head out to Assisi.

Follow a local guide for a tour of Assisi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enter the Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi, a Papal minor Basilica and one of the most important place of Christian pilgrimage in Italy. Then see the Rocca Maggiore, the Roman Amphitheater and the Temple of Minerva.

Enjoy lunch on your own.

Enjoy some leisure time in Assisi to discover the city at your own pace.

Return to Florence.

Dinner with your group at a local restaurant.

Overnight accommodation in Florence.

DAY 7: FLORENCE – ROME

Breakfast at the hotel with your group.

Transfer to the train station.

Board your FRECCE train and head to Rome.

Transfer to your hotel to drop off your luggage.

Enjoy lunch on your own.

Explore the most monumental elements of Rome a your local guide; visit the Colosseum, where gladiators once battled, the Roman Imperial Forum with focus on Roman mythology and a walk through the Roman Forum ending at Palatine Hill.

Dinner with your group at a local restaurant.

Overnight accommodation in Rome.

DAY 8: ROME

Breakfast at the hotel with your group.

With a local guide, visit St. Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Museum including the Raphael Rooms, Tapestry Gallery & Sistine Chapel. Then have time to discover St. Peter’s Square.

Enjoy lunch on your own.

Have some time to discover Rome at your own pace.

Dinner with your group at a local restaurant.

Overnight accommodation in Rome.

DAY 9: ROME – HOME

Breakfast at the hotel with your group.

Transfer to the airport.

Say  Arrivederci to your Prométour Tour Director.

Board your transatlantic flight from Rome and fly back home.
