START PLANNING

Day 1: Travel to Spain

Board your transatlantic flight and fly through the night to Spain.

Day 2: Madrid

Meet your Spanish Prometour Tour Director upon arrival at the airport.

Transfer to your hotel to drop off your luggage, check-in will be done later.

While in Madrid, travel as the locals do, by walking and taking public transportation.

Have a guided tour of El Palacio Real, the official residence of the Spanish Royal Family while in Madrid, and admire the exquisite collections of; tapestries, porcelain, antique clocks, armor and artwork.

With your Tour Director, explore the Puerta Del Sol, one of the best known and busiest places in Madrid; admire the buildings and look for the plaque indicating KM Zero for the roads of Spain.

Dinner in a local restaurant with your group in Madrid.

Walk through Plaza Mayor, said to be one of the most elegant squares in Europe.

Overnight accommodation in Madrid.

Day 3: Excursion: Toledo

Breakfast at the hotel with your group.

Board your private motor coach and head to Toledo, the historic capital of Castilla-La Mancha.

Visit a traditional Sword Workshop to learn how metal is forged into elaborate weaponry and jewelry.

On a guided walking tour of Toledo discover its fortified walls and enter the 13th-century Gothic Cathedral Santa Maria, and then see El Greco’s The Burial of the Count of Orgaz at Santo Tomé.

Have time to explore Toledo at your own pace.

Board your motor coach and return to Madrid.

Enter El Museo del Prado, one of the top three museums in the world and admire its collection of Spanish paintings (non-guided).

Dinner in a local restaurant with your group in Madrid.

Overnight accommodation in Madrid.

Day 4: Excursion: Segovia

Breakfast at the hotel with your group.

Visit Spain’s largest bullring, Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas; discover a place which is emblematic of the heart and soul of bullfighting and where the world’s finest matadors present their artistry and skill.

Board your private motor coach and head to Segovia, a World Heritage City.

With a local guide, visit the Acueducto de Segovia; built in the 1st century AD to transport water from the Fuente Fria River to the city, its magnificent arches extend to almost 100 feet high.

Enjoy a guided visit of the Segovia’s spectacular Alcazar; this fairy-tale-like castle, especially when seen from below, influenced the designers of Cinderella’s castle in Disneyland.

Board your motor coach and return to Madrid.

Dinner in a local restaurant with your group in Madrid.

Overnight accommodation in Madrid.

Day 5: Madrid – Barcelona

Breakfast at the hotel with your group.

Transfer by motor coach from your hotel to the Madrid Atocha train station, an attraction in itself.

Take the AVE high-speed train to Barcelona.

Transfer to your hotel to drop off your luggage, check-in will be done later.

While in Barcelona, travel as the locals do by walking or taking public transportation.

Follow your Tour Director on a walk down La Rambla; Placa de Catalunya, the stretch called the “Rambla of the Little Birds”, Placa Real, and the towering Columbus Monument.

Enter the Cathedral de Barcelona, built in the 16th century and known for its Gothic architecture.

Explore the intricate medieval streets of the Barri Gotic, the original site of the Roman Village.

Dinner with your group in a local restaurant of Barcelona.

Overnight accommodation in Barcelona.

Day 6: Barcelona

Breakfast at the hotel with your group.

Discover Park Güell, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and an Art Nouveau extravaganza of pieces by Antoni Gaudi.

Have a guided visit of Gaudi’s most famous and persistent work, the unfinished Sagrada Família.

Enjoy some leisure time in Barceloneta and the seafront of Barcelona.

Tonight, experience the amazing sights and feel the sounds of an authentic Spanish Flamenco Show while having dinner with your group (Paella menu).

Overnight accommodation in Barcelona.

Day 7: Excursion: Montserrat

Breakfast at the hotel with your group.

Board your motor coach and head to Montserrat, a spectacular, Benedictine monk mountain retreat.

Visit the Santa Maria Monastery where the monks worship Catalonia’s Patron Saint, the black Madonna ”La Moreneta”, blackened by the smoke of countless candles.

Enjoy the view as you take a cable-car back to the bus.

Board your motor coach and return to Barcelona.

Enjoy a guided visit of El Poble Espanyol; it’s a fantastic way to see the different regions of Spain without ever leaving Barcelona!

Dinner with your group in a local restaurant of Barcelona.

Montjuïc Hill has been the focus of key events and offers an amazing view of Barcelona.

Overnight accommodation in Barcelona.

Day 8: Barcelona – Paris  

Breakfast at the hotel with your group.

Transfer by motor coach to the airport.

Say a fond “Hasta Luego” to your Spanish Prometour Tour Director and continue on with your trip.

Board your flight from Barcelona to Paris.

Meet your French Prometour Tour Director upon arrival at the airport.

Transfer to your hotel to drop off your luggage, check-in will be later.

While in Paris, travel as the locals by walking or taking public transportation.

With your Tour Director explore the Quartier Latin.

Enter Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris, it’s as impressive inside as it is outside.

Discover Quartier Montmartre, known as “la Butte” and make sure to enter the Sacre Coeur Basilica.

Have dinner with your group in a local restaurant.

Overnight accommodation in Paris.

Day 9: Paris

Breakfast at the hotel with your group.

Have a guided tour of the Musee du Louvre; Discover some of its wonderful masterpieces including Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa and the striking glass pyramid in front of the museum.

Stroll on the Champs-Elysées and see the Arc de Triomphe, location of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and Eternal Flame.

Enjoy lunch on your own at a local Flams Restaurant, they are renowned for their “Flammekueches”.

Get a bird’s eye view of Paris from the observation platforms of the Eiffel Tower (3rd floor access is included but subject to availability).

Admire the architecture of Paris as you cruise along the River Seine on board a Bateau Mouche.

Have a Crepes dinner with your group in a local restaurant.

Overnight accommodation in Paris.

Day 10: Paris – Return Home

Breakfast at the hotel with your group.

Transfer by motor coach from your hotel to the airport.

Say a fond Au Revoir to your French Prometour Tour Director.

Board your transatlantic flight from Paris and fly back to Columbus.
