September 18 :  Arrive in Spain

Plan to arrive in Madrid and make your way to the centrally located hotel. A private transfer can be arranged (extra charge). The rest of the day is at leisure.

September 19: Madrid (B/D)

Enjoy breakfast and meet your Prométour Tour Director at the hotel.

Take a guided tour of El Palacio Real, to discover the former residence of the kings and queens of Spain. It reveals the Royal Family’s exquisite collection of tapestries, porcelain, antique clocks, armor and art work. Be sure to explore the impressive Campo del Moro gardens.  

Dinner in a local restaurant with your group.

September 20: Madrid (B/D)

Breakfast at the hotel with your group. 

Discover the Museo del Prado, one of the top three museums in the world and admire its collection of Spanish paintings. Then head to Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, and see one of the most famous collection of 20th century art. Don’t miss Picasso’s famous Painting, Guernica.

Explore Parque El Retiro; it belonged to the Spanish Monarchy until the late 19th century and is now one of Madrid’s largest public parks. 

Dinner in a local restaurant with your group.

 September 21: Excursion to Toledo (B/D)

Breakfast at the hotel.

Board your private motor coach and head to Toledo, historic capital of Castilla-La Mancha. 

Discover Toledo’s fortified walls and its legacy of Churches, Squares, a Fortress, Mosques and Synagogues on a guided walking tour of Toledo; it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986 for its extensive monumental heritage and historical co-existence of Christian, Muslim and Jewish cultures.  

Visit a traditional Sword Workshop to learn how metal is forged into elaborate weaponry and jewelry; at the end of your visit have the opportunity to purchase souvenirs.  

Board your motor coach and return to Madrid.

Have dinner with your group in a local restaurant.

September 22: Barcelona (B/D)

Breakfast at the hotel, then transfer by motor coach from your hotel to the Madrid Atocha train station, an attraction in itself.

Take the AVE high speed train to Barcelona.  

Transfer to your hotel to drop off your luggage. 

Head to Montjuic, to get there, use the most unique mode of transportation available in the city, the Montjuic cable car, making three stops along the way.  

Have dinner with your group in a local restaurant.

September 23: Barcelona (B/D)

Breakfast at the hotel.

Head for La Rambla, a pedestrian promenade where you will feel the vibrant atmosphere of Barcelona. See the cloister of the Church of Santa Monica (Center for the Arts Santa Monica). Check out the giant 1868 clock at the Academy of Science, the Mercado de La Boqueria (the most visited market in Barcelona), and Casa Bruno Cuadros with a dragon at the front. Your walk ends at the Colombus Monument.

Enjoy lunch on your own.

Explore the El Barri Gòtic, Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter; the area around the Cathedral is a tangled yet inviting grab bag of undiscovered courtyards, grand squares, school yards, and Art Nouveau storefronts. During your discovery of the early Roman city of Barcino, you’ll also see the four columns from the Temple of Augustus which dates back to the first century BC. 

Spend some time in the Picasso Museum, which is on the pilgrimage route of all modern art lovers .

September 24: Barcelona (B/D)

Breakfast at the hotel.

Visit Gaudi’s most famous and persistent work, the unfinished Sagrada Família.

Enjoy lunch on your own.

For a taste of local life head to the Boqueria, the city’s main food market; this iconic market is full of colour and tastes and a great spot to practice your Spanish, or buy snacks.

Enjoy the rest of the day exploring Barcelona at your own pace.

Have dinner with your group in a local restaurant.

September 25: Excursion to Figueres & Cadaqués (B/D)

Breakfast at the hotel.

Travel to Figueres, the birthplace of Dalí and home to the world famous Dalí Museum-Theatre. Explore where he was born on Monturiol Street and visit the famous museum. Inside is a world of fantasy mixed with architecture, paintings and sculptures.

Enjoy lunch on your own.

Leave Figueres and head to the beautiful coastal village of Cadaqués. Famous for its white washed Mediterranean houses, narrow shady streets, and sandy bay, this is one of the most picturesque villages on the Costa Brava. In the afternoon, travel just a few minutes up the coast to the even smaller village of Port Lligat, the place where Dalí sought the peace and quiet that truly inspired him. Finally, move on to Cap de Creus, the most easterly point of mainland Spain

Board your motor coach and return to Barcelona Tonight, experience the amazing sights and feel the sounds of an authentic Spanish Flamenco Show while having a Paella dinner with your group.

September 26: Travel back Home (B)

Breakfast at the hotel and transfer by motor coach from your hotel to the airport in Barcelona.
