DAY 1: HOME – MADRID
Board your transatlantic flight and fly through the night to Spain.
DAY 2: MADRID
Bienvenido a España! Meet your Prométour Tour Director upon arrival at the airport.
Transfer to your hotel to drop off your luggage.
While in Madrid travel by walking and taking public transportation.
Guided walking tour through Madrid’s oldest quarter! You’ll see the famous Plaza Mayor, the Plaza de Espana, and the Debod Egyptian Temple, a remarkable 4th-century temple that was transferred stone by stone from Egypt.
Leisure time at the Puerta del Sol, one of the best known and busiest places in Madrid.
Dinner at a local restaurant.
Overnight accommodation in Madrid.
DAY 3: MADRID – VALLADOLID
Breakfast at the hotel.
Travel to Segovia, a historic city northwest of Madrid.
Let a local guide explain the Roman engineering behind the Aqueduct of Segovia. It was built in the 1st century AD to transport water from the Fuente Fria River to the city.
Lunch on your own.
Continue on to Valladolid.
Enter the Christopher Columbus Museum; it has wonderful old maps that take you on a journey through Christopher Columbus’ trips to the Americas.
Dinner at a local restaurant.
Overnight accommodation in Valladolid.
DAY 4: VALLADOLID – BILBAO
Breakfast at the hotel.
Board the bus and travel towards Bilbao.
Make a stop in Sangas to visit a local farm. Learn about cheese production during a Queso Fresco workshop.
Have lunch on site.
Continue on to the city of Bilbao, famous for its Guggenheim Museum.
Hop on a boat to get a different view of the city from it estuary.
Dinner at a local restaurant.

DAY 5: BILBAO – SAN SEBASTIAN
Breakfast at the hotel.
This morning discover the Island of San Juan Gaztelugatxe, which is connected to the mainland by a man-made stone bridge. From there you’ll see the Island of Aketx, a bird sanctuay. The two islands form a protected habitat for the local flora and fauna.
Lunch on your own.
Continue your route to San Sebastian, also known as Donostia in Basque.
Discover the San Sebastian Aquarium, one of the best oceanographic museums in Europe.
Enjoy time at the city’s most famous beach, La Concha!
Enjoy a Pintxos dinner – the Basque equivalent of tapas.
Overnight accommodation in San Sebastian.
DAY 6: SAN SEBASTIAN – BURGOS
Breakfast at the hotel.
Board your bus and travel to Burgos.
Lunch on your own.
Pass through the Arco de Santa Maria, one of the 12 medieval doors the city had during the middle ages.
Explore the Museum of Human Evolution. This fascinating museum is divided in four floors and each has a different exhibit. Don’t miss the Charles Darwin’s Theory of Evolution exhibit!

DAY 7: BURGOS – MADRID
Breakfast at the hotel.
Board your bus and travel to Madrid.
Lunch on your own.
Explore Parque el Retiro; it belonged to the Spanish Monarchy and is now one of Madrid’s largest public parks.
Head to Gran Via, the liveliest avenue of the capital and a shopping street located in central Madrid.
Have an authentic Paella dinner at a local restaurant.
Overnight accommodation in Madrid.
DAY 8: MADRID – HOME
Breakfast at the hotel.
Transfer by bus to the airport.
Say goodbye to your Prométour Tour Director.
