DAY 1: HOME – BARCELONA

Board your transatlantic flight and fly through the night to Spain.

DAY 2: BARCELONA

Bienvenido a España! Meet your Prométour Tour Director upon arrival at the airport.

Transfer to your hotel to drop off your luggage.

While in Barcelona travel by walking or taking public transportation.

Follow your Tour Director on a walk down La Rambla; start at Placa de Catalunya, stop at Placa Real, and end your walk at the towering Columbus Monument.

Enjoy some leisure time at the Barceloneta, the seafront of Barcelona.

Dinner at a local restaurant.

Overnight accommodation in Barcelona.

DAY 3: BARCELONA

Breakfast at the hotel.

Explore Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter; the area around the Cathedral was the early Roman city of Barcino. See the four columns from the Temple of Augustus which dates back to the first century BC.

Enter the Cathedral de Barcelona, built in the 16th century.

Pick-up food at a local market and have a picnic at Park Guell, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and an Art Nouveau extravaganza of pieces by Antoni Gaudi.

Visit Gaudi’s most famous and persistent work, the unfinished Sagrada Familia.

Explore the city at your own pace!

DAY 4: BARCELONA – ZARAGOZA

Breakfast at the hotel.

Board your bus and travel to Zaragoza.

Lunch on your own upon arrival.

Discover the town of Zaragoza, it has two UNESCO World Heritage Site: the Aljaferia Palace, and La Seo Cathedral. Both landmarks are part of the Mudejar Architecture of Aragon.

Enter the Basilica de Pilar, it is reputed to be the first church in history to be dedicated to Mary.

Have dinner at a local restaurant with your group.

Overnight accommodation in Zaragoza.

DAY 5: ZARAGOZA – BURGOS

Breakfast at the hotel.

Board your bus and travel to Burgos.

Lunch on your own.

Enjoy a bike ride slong El Camino de Santiago, which is the 13th stage on the pilgrimage from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port.

Enter the Burgos Cathedral and admire its Romanesque and Gothic architecture style.

Dinner at a local restaurant.

Overnight accommodation in Burgos.

DAY 6: BURGOS – OVIEDO

Breakfast at the hotel.

Board your bus and travel to Oviedo.

Lunch on your own.

Meet a local guide and learn about the city of Oviedo; see its superb medieval old town and enter the Cathedral of San Salvador.

Spend some time at Plaza del Fontac, used as a market place for centuries.

Dinner at a local restaurant.

Overnight accommodation in Oviedo.

DAY 7: OVIEDO – SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA

Breakfast at the hotel.

Board your bus and continue your pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela.

As you approach the city, stop at Monte Gozo to admire the view and walk the last 5 kilometers to the Shrine of St-John.

Lunch on your own.

Meet a local guide for a tour of the city and a visit of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Dinner at a local restaurant.

Overnight accommodation in Santiago de Compostela.

DAY 8: SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA – MADRID

Breakfast at the hotel.

Board your bus and travel to Leon.

Lunch on your own.

With the help of your Tour Director, discover the city of Leon! Make sure to stop by the Gothic Cathedral and Casa Botines.

Enter the Basilica of San Isidoro, one of the most important Romanesque work of art where the thousand years old frescoes are underline beautifully.

Dinner at a local restaurant.

Overnight accommodation in Leon.

DAY 9: LEON – MADRID

Breakfast at the hotel.

Board your bus for the final stretch to Madrid.

Explore the Parque El Retiro; it belonged to the Spanish Monarchy and is now one of Madrid’s largest public parks.

Have some leisure time at the Puerta Del Sol, one of the best known and busiest places in Madrid; admire the buildings, people watch and look for the plaque indicating KM Zero for the roads of Spain.

Enjoy a typical bocadillo de jamon serrano con queso manchego for dinner!

Overnight accommodation in Madrid.

DAY 10: MADRID – HOME

Breakfast at the hotel.

Transfer by bus to the airport.
