Day 1: Travel To Rome, Italy

Day 2: Rome

Meet your Italian Prométour Tour Director upon arrival at the airport.

Discover Rome by Segway; after receiving your safety helmet and instructions, follow your local guide as you discover some of Rome’s sites such as; Piazza Popolo, Piazza della Rontada, and Castel Sant’ Angelo.

From the Gianicolo Hill see the innumerable domes & bell towers that dot the skyline of Rome.

At Ristorante Meo Patacca, enjoy typical Italian Cuisine and live traditional Roman & Neapolitan Music.

Have some time to explore the Trastevere with its unique character of narrow cobbled streets lined by medieval houses.

Day 3: Tivoli

Breakfast at the hotel.

Board your motor coach and travel to Tivoli.

Visit Villa Adriana, built as a retreat from Rome for Roman Emperor Hadrian in the early 2nd century and during the later years of his reign, he actually governed the empire from the villa.

Visit The Villa d’Este in Tivoli, with its palace and garden, one of the most remarkable and comprehensive illustrations of Renaissance culture at its most refined.

Board your motor coach and return to Rome.

Have some leisure time to discover Rome at your own pace.

Enjoy typical Roman cuisine at Ristorante Da Pancrazio; the restaurant was built over the Teatro di Pompeo, the first permanent theatre built in Rome, and where Julius Caesar was murdered.

Experience the Viaggio nei Fori – Foro Di Caesar, a multi-media show of lights, images, short films, and animation set to a background of music, sound effects and narration; follow the life of Julius Caesar and his role in the construction of the Via dei Fori Imperiali where the daily life of Ancient Rome took place.

Day 4: Herculaneum & Sorrento

Enter Donadio Cameo Factory for a mini-tour to show how cameos are made and explain the different skills and levels of the carvers.

End the day in Sorrento, an unforgettable Italian coastal town. 

Enjoy dinner at Ristorante La Tavola di Lucullo, famous for its simple but delicious home made pizzas and pastas.

Day 5: Sorrento

Join your Tour Director on a discovery walk of Sorrento; see the cafe-lined square of Piazza Tasso, the narrow alleys of the historic center and admire the magnificent view of the Bay of Naples from the Villa Comunale.

Enjoy a guided visit to a family-owned local mozzarella cheese producer to learn about the process of making the delicious mozzarella cheese of Campania – considered to be the best in the world!

Day 6: Capri

Breakfast at the hotel.

Board a high-speed hydrofoil and head to Capri.

Visit the beautiful Blue Grotto, the emblem of the island of Capri; see the crystalline blue ocean with silver reflections and experience this marvel of nature, you feel as if you are suspended in the heavens (subject to tide/weather conditions).

Have time to explore the enchanting cliff-top village of Capri, with its narrow medieval alleyways and quaint squares.

Return to Sorrento by Hydrofoil.

Day 7: Positano & Matera

Board your motor coach and travel to Positano, the jewel of of the Amalfi Coast.

Have free time to explore the village of Positano and its beaches.

Board your motor coach and continue on to Matera, a UNESCO World Heritage site for being the most outstanding, intact example of a troglodyte settlement in the Mediterranean region.

Learn about the history of Matera’s extensive cave-dwelling districts; the Sassi. Visit a reconstructed cave-dwelling & enter one of the Byzantine monk created chiese rupestri (Rupestrian Churches).

Day 8: Lecce & Alberobello

Board your motor coach and travel to Lecce, the Baroque masterpiece of southern Italy with its abundance of decorative cherubs!

See some of Lecce’s highlights from aboard the tourist train: Piazza Sant’OronzoPiazza del Duomo & Basilica di Santa Croce.

Board your motor coach and continue on to Alberobello. The Zona dei Trulli is a dense mass of 1500 white-tipped, beehive-shaped houses, made from local limestone; none are older than the 14th century.

Day 9: Trani & Rome
