Day 1: Travel to Costa Rica

Bienvenidos a Costa Rica! Meet your Costa Rican Prométour Tour Director upon arrival at the airport in San Jose.

Board your motor coach and travel to La Guacima de Alajuela, a small village 18 miles northwest of San Jose, where locals speak only Spanish and families preserve the real “tico” lifestyle.

Check-in at El Rancho Lodge and have some leisure time; there is a pool, a volleyball net, you can play soccer or go for a walk around town!

Day 2: San Jose

Breakfast at the hotel.

Board your motor coach and travel to San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica.

See some of the most popular sites on a guided city tour of San Jose including; Plaza de la Cultura and Plaza de Democracia, the famous flea market where you can practice your Spanish by bargaining with local vendors Lunch with your group in a local restaurant.

Visit Museo del Oro; the collection dates from when Christopher Columbus arrived in the Americas and the pieces range from simple round earrings to intricately-worked representations of local animals, all made from gold.

Enjoy some leisure time to discover San Jose at your own pace.

Enjoy the magnificent view and an authentic traditional Costa Rican folkloric dinner show at Restaurant Mirador Tiquicia.

Day 3: Poas Volcano & Coffee Plantation

Make your way to Poas Volcano National Park; Poas Volcano is considered the largest active crater in the world at about 1.6 km wide and 320 meters deep, with frequent gyser-like eruptions and Lake Botos fills an extinct crater and is home to many cloud forest birds like hummingbirds, tanagers and the quetzal.

Breathe in the aroma of freshly-roasted Arabica coffee beans at the Doka Coffee Plantation. The tour begins at the seedbed, where visitors learn about the farm’s history, the coffee trees and the planting process, and if the plants’ fruits are ripe, pick a few coffee berries before visiting the water mill, processing plant and the roasting room

Day 4: La Paz Waterfall, Sarchi & Grecia

Explore La Paz Waterfall & Gardens; located along the road that leads to the northern plains of Costa Rica, this amazing park offers visitors the opportunity to observe many different species of local wildlife such as; hummingbirds, bromeliad gardens, a serpentarium, a frog pond, 3.5 kilometers of walking trails, and of course, waterfalls.

Stop in the town of Sarchi and watch the artisans at work as they create the unique and colorful Ox Carts that this town is famous for.

Follow your Prometour Tour Director on a discovery tour of Grecia, the highlight being the famous Nuestra Senora de las Mercedes Church because of its particular architecture.

Day 5: Arenal/La Fortuna

Day 6: Monteverde

Day 8: Manuel Antonio
