DAY 1: HOME – TOULOUSE 

Board your transatlantic flight and fly through the night to France.

DAY 2: TOULOUSE 

Bienvenue en France! Meet your Prométour Tour Director upon arrival at the airport.

Transfer to your hotel to drop off your luggage.

With your Tour Director see some of Toulouse’s highlights; Place Capitole, Town Hall, and the Basilique St-Sernin.

Explore Old Toulouse at your own pace.

Dinner at a local restaurant.

Overnight accommodation in Toulouse.

DAY 3: TOULOUSE 

Breakfast at the hotel.

Guided visit of the Cité de l’Espace, discover general concepts related to Space and Astronomy.

Lunch on your own.

Visit the headquarter of Airbus – Start with the telemetry room and the presentation of the A380 program. Then from a lookout built into the plant, view of the general indoor and outdoor test stations and the entire site. Finally learn about the missions of a military plane such as the MSN1, the very first Airbus A400M.

Dinner at a local restaurant.

Overnight accommodation in Toulouse.

DAY 4: TOULOUSE – SARLAT LA CANEDA 

Breakfast at the hotel.

Travel to Sarlat-la-Canéda, admire the Dordogne scenery while on route.

Enjoy lunch on your own.

Visit the Village de la Madeleine, a troglodyte prehistoric shelter under an overhanging cliff of Dordogne. It was discovered in 1863.

Stop at the Roque St-Christophe – a 1 km long prehistoric rock formation and the biggest troglodytic site in Europe.

Explore the charming town of Sarlat-la-Canéda.

DAY 5: SARLAT LA CANEDA

Breakfast at the hotel.

Visit the Gouffre de Padirac – a natural cave that contains a subterranean river.

Enjoy A boat ride in the stunning silence, looking at the incredible spectacle of erosion in the underground world.

Then discover the Lac de la Pluie, where the ceiling is thinner, so it lets in raindrops from ground level.

End the journey at the Lac des Gours where calcite deposits rise from the riverbed.

Lunch on your own.

Embark a Gabare, a traditional flat-bottomed boat, and discover the flora and fauna of the Dordogne Valley, a UNESCO biosphere reserve.

Dinner at a local restaurant.

DAY 6: SARLAT LA CANEDA – CLERMONT FERRAND 

Breakfast at the hotel.

Travel to Clermont-Ferrand.

Lunch on your own.

Board a train to reach the top of Puy de Dôme, admire the panoramic view as you ascend the highest volcano of the Chaines des Puys and the location of Blaise Pascal’s atmospheric Pressure experiments!

Spend some time exploring Clermont-Ferrand at your own pace!

Dinner at a local restaurant.

Overnight accommodation in Clermont-Ferrand.

DAY 7: CLERMONT FERRAND – LYON 

Breakfast at the hotel.

Join a local guide and discover the town of Clermont-Ferrand, home to French Mathematician and Philosopher Blaise Pascal.

Visit the Musée Henri Lecoq – the museum is home to Pascal’s arithmetic machine, a mechanical calculator he invented in the early 17th century.

Enjoy lunch on your own and some leisure time.

Board the bus and travel Lyon.

Dinner at a local restaurant.

Overnight accommodation in Lyon.

DAY 8: LYON 

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel.

Follow a local guide on a tour of Old Lyon – walk along the Saône River, see Notre-Dame de Fourvière Basilica and the quaint streets.

Lunch on your own.

Guided visit the Maison des Mathématiques de Lyon – learn about a different aspect of Math.

Spend some time exploring the city at your own pace.

Dinner at a local restaurant.

Overnight accommodation in Lyon.

DAY 9: LYON 

Breakfast at the hotel.

Transfer to the airport.

Say Au Revoir to your French Prométour Tour Director and fly back home.
