DAY 1: HOME – SAN JOSE

Board your flight and begin the journey to Costa Rica.

Bienvenidos a Costa Rica!

Meet your Costa Rican Prometour Tour Director at the arrivals section of the airport.

Transfer to El Rancho Lodge in La Guácima de Alajuela.

Upon arrival the Rancho de Espanol, take part in an orientation session with a welcome fruit cocktail.

Meet your host families as they welcome you to take you to their home to settle in.

Get to know each other over dinner followed by overnight accommodation

 

DAY 2: LA GUACIMA & SAN JOSE

Enjoy breakfast with your host family

Your host family will accompany you to the pre-established spot so you can take your bus to El Rancho Lodge for your Spanish classes.

Partake in Spanish classes.

Student to instructor ratio of 1:8

4 x 2 hour Spanish classes.

Placement tests to be completed upon arrival.

Enjoy your packed lunch, carefully prepared by your host family

Head to San Jose for a guided city tour. See some of the most popular attractions such as the Plaza de la Cultura (the Main Square & focal point) and Plaza de Democracia (the famous flea market) – practice your Spanish by bargaining with the local vendors.

Return to your host family for dinner followed by overnight accommodation.

 

DAY 3: LA GUACIMA

Enjoy breakfast with your host family

Walk to the meeting point and board your bus to El Rancho Lodge.

Partake in Spanish classes.

Enjoy your packed lunch, carefully prepared by your host family

Learn to cook like a Tico with a hands-on and interactive cooking class of local cuisine

Return to your host family for dinner followed by overnight accommodation.

 

DAY 4: LA GUACIMA, GRECIA & SARCHI

Enjoy breakfast with your host family

Walk to the meeting point and board your bus to El Rancho Lodge.

Partake in Spanish classes.

Enjoy your packed lunch, carefully prepared by your host family

Board your motor coach and travel to Grecia, a quaint village in the Alajuela Province

Follow your Prometour Tour Director on a discovery tour of Grecia, the highlight being the famous Nuestra Senora de las Mercedes Church because of its particular architecture.

Board your motor coach and continue to Sarchi, famous for its arts & crafts.

With your Prometour Tour Director explore the artistic town of Sarchi and watch local artisans at work as they create the unique and colorful Ox Carts that it is famous for.

Return to your host family for dinner followed by overnight accommodation.

 

DAY 5: LA GUACIMA

Enjoy breakfast with your host family

Walk to the meeting point and board your bus to El Rancho Lodge.

Partake in Spanish classes.

Enjoy your packed lunch, carefully prepared by your host family

Spend the afternoon enjoying El Rancho Lodge’s pools, ping pong tables, and football (soccer!) pitch.

Return to your host family for dinner followed by overnight accommodation.

 

DAY 6: LA GUACIMA & MANUEL ANTONIO

Enjoy breakfast with your host family

Walk to the meeting point and board your bus to El Rancho Lodge.

Board your motor coach and travel to Manuel Antonio National Park. Along the way, your Prométour Tour Director will help identify some of the exotic toucans and flocks of parrots and parakeets camouflaged in the dense forest.

Make a stop at the Tarcoles River Bridge. Tarcoles River is a natural habitat to enormous crocodiles.

Enjoy your packed lunch, carefully prepared by your host family

Visit Manuel Antonio National Park. Hiking in this protected coastal area provides a great opportunity to experience the tropical wildlife that enriches the park

Return to your host family for dinner followed by overnight accommodation.

 

DAY 7: RETURN HOME

Enjoy breakfast with your host family.

Meet at El Rancho and prepare for the journey home. Be sure to thank your host families for the experience and for opening their home with you!

Board your motor coach and transfer to the airport.

Say a fond Hasta Luego to your Costa Rican Prometour Tour Director.
